Crash72
I have been approved .25 FAC air. Now with a budget of £1000 for this rifle, in the calibre I have always wanted for FAC air :-) What do I buy??? Shots are mainly 60 yards, crows, magpies, rabbits and pigeons on the ground. Really a great permission for it. Anyway, I'm thinking a FX Bobcat .25, FX Royale 500, Hatsan Galatian .25, is there a Daystate .25?
Sheldon Cooper
Check out teds holdover on youtube he uses a fx bobcat in .25 and shoots out way beyond 60 years. Think they are more than a grand tho
RED BEARD
what about a theoben rapid?
Crash72
The Bobcat is on the list Sheldon. Looking into Rapids also RB.
RED BEARD
theres usually a fair few fac rapids for well under a grand on gun trader.
chrisjpainter
I think the air ranger has a .25 cal. But it develops 80ft/lb and from what I've heard, it doesn't handle its power well.
Crash72
98% of me is wanted the FX Royale
chrisjpainter
then kill the 2% and go with it!
evo
personally you would of been better with a .22 huntman classic or an Airwolf or last but not least the Daystate Airanger and all in .22. reason why,,,,,the pellets certainly cost less to buy and the huntsman running at 30ftlb is an awesome piece of kit,,the ranger and airwolf running at 40ftlb well they are devastatingly accurate but a .22 will certainly do the job and a .25 will also but far less choice of pellets about good luck with whatever you choose atb Evo
Crash72
Thanks Evo. I have always wanted a .25 FAC air so had to go for it. A friend has the Royale 500 and said the accuracy out to 75 yards with the smooth twist barrel is within a .50 pence coin, (5 shot group) Sounds good to me and the hitting power is massive. He is using JSB Exact King Pellets running around 900fps. Edited June 4, 2014 by Crash72

happyshooter
Hi Crash ,the FX Bobcat in .25 would be my choice .!!!! atb brian
Crash72
I'm really torn between the Bobcat and Royale Brian. Exact same gun in .25 and I like the look of both of them. Are you getting one? Anything else you recommend in .25 long range?
RED BEARD
What about a career lever action jobbo, bet they do a .25 in fac.
happyshooter
Hi Crash, either the bobcat or the royale would be top of my list or the fx boss in .30 cal at 75fpe might also be on your list. my fac requirements are covered at present the wolverine .303 negates a .25 every time for me!!!!! atb brian
Crash72
The Wolverine would be nice. I have always wanted a .25 FAC as a lot of friends in the States use them and love the hard hitting accuracy for pest control within 75 yards. Growing up, it was always a .22 and .177 and that BIG pellet (.25) with a sub 12ftlb no thanks. But now with an FAC pushing 50 ftlb's on an A&M custom tune this thing will be bullseye out to 75. Anything further, will use the 17hmr. What sort of hunting are you doing with the .303 Brian? I bet it's sub moa at 100 yards?
Crash72
Decided on a custom tuned Theoben Rapid .25 built by Adrian at A&M Gunsmiths :-) Building it from scratch for ultimate accuracy out to 100 yards with a tactical sniper stock etc... Looking at about 50/60 ft lbs. Very excited. Edited June 9, 2014 by Crash72
RED BEARD
i'm thinking of having one of his twink mods for my rapid off him,i've heard they're really good.

Looking at about 50/60 ft lbs. Very excited. A great choice 48 fpe with H&N barracuda 31grn pellets is the best combo because i had one built by Ben Taylor about 2yrs back. i unfortunately sold it on regretted it now good luck with this Crash . pls keep me informed of its progress . the .303 is deadly accurate out to 90 yds but drops like a brick after that but most of all its a pleasure to shoot>!!!! atb brian
Zx12rash
What's the cost of you don't mind me asking?
NickB65
Never heard of the FX range and when I looked them up on the internet I thought I was looking at a Theoben..... are they Theoben in a new name or have they just pinched a lot of their design? Like the more traditional guns as some of the newer designs like to military for me.....
Crash72
Why did you sell Brian :-( Not a good move! The .303 is nice. One day. Vermin will have to settle for .25 now You have to call A&M and discuss exactly what you want and he will give you a price. Adrian is a cool dude and knows his stuff. FX is really good but just fancied the infamous Rapid custom tuned and stocked.
