kennett
Just got in from a perfect days decoying! Spotted a flightline last week and followed it to some barley on the edge of a cover crop. The birds were dropping into a belt of pines, and walking into the barley from the maize strip. Turned up at 9.30 this morning and set up with fuds on the maize, a flapper and 2 bouncy poles set just inside the barley. There was a nice breeze blowing right to left and it was overcast all day. Started shooting a steady stream, with 3 separate flight lines. Some very tricky shots as the maize is 20yds wide and most birds were just inside the barley so probably 30+. Ended up with 165 on the clicker by 4pm, could have stayed longer as birds were still happy to decoy but unfortunately we both had things to do! motty
That is a top bag. I have maintained that the pigeons have always been around, just they are now starting to show themselves in big numbers. Hopefully some three figure bags will be coming my way soon. kennett
Thanks guys, was a cracking day. I think that after the easy winter there was just too much food around to concentrate them in any real numbers, a lot we shot today had been eating half ripe cherries, some barley and some beet tops. Just shows what a range of foods they will go for

There will be some hoping for four figure bags.
