Frank
We explored a new area to start the day, but the bunnys were far and few, so we decided to head back to where we had done some weeks ago. Great start, neted up around a tree , dont like these ones, as if a lie up accures, you need some extra tools to get the ferts out. As luck would have it, we got 3 out, without no probs. Moved on and the bolts were good, no digging and we ended up with 8 plump bunnys, then, to cap the day off, i spoted a fox about 300 yds away, feeding on some old bones. I had no rifle , so got the camera ready and started to call, in came Mr Fox, like a train and i managed to get a reasonable pic, before it seen us and buggerd off. Frank. Frank
Thanks very much folks. The fox in the pic is now gone. I had him in a snare this morning, as could not see him on the lamp last night. As the farmer was anxiouse to get rid of him, i set some fox snares yesterday evening and had him alive in one this morning, he was humanely dispatched with my .22, a shot to the brain. Pity in one way, as i kind of felt sorry for the old fella , im starting to get soft. Not so the farmer, he was well pleased. Frank.
Ferretboy111
What a sucker of a fox though! Wish i could call the crafty ******* on my shoot that easily. Alex
Frank
Alex, not much to it really. I just used the palm of my hand and imitated a bunny in distress. Depending on the foxes mood, ither he or she will come flying, or just ignore you and sit down to listen, or just walk off. I also find, calling in the day time, seems more effective. Frank. Hunter
Frank, think of all those little lambs you have saved Good work The only time I shot a fox while calling was also during the day. They run for it at night
