spandit
I've often wondered... In the shooting press, you often get reviews/tests of different firearms - how does the licencing work for this? Are shooting journalists registered as RFDs?
saddler
Most UK shooting press publishers are RFDs for that particular reason

HDAV
RFD ticket doesn't allow them to shoot with them iirc just poses unless there is an exemption like for warehouse men etc. the TNT guys who deliver and collect guns don't have a liscence but TNT may be a registered RFD (I doubt it as there is a specific exemption just like for crown employees) Not sure about royal family but that has iirc been discussed previously. spandit
Ah, I see. Ahem. Mr. Fister, sir, how do you go about borrowing guns for test/review? Thank-ee kindly, sorry to be of trouble
HDAV
Lol, you need an RFD although some do masquerade under the 'servant' role.........so I'm told. My gunsmith has rfd but also needs his own personal FAC/SGC to go shooting. Is it the same for you? Any restrictions on where you can test a gun not on your personal FAC? welshwarrior
I can test any gun held on my RFD to insure it's fit for sale or is correctly repaired. For personal shooting I have to use my guns on my FAC or SGC including 72hrs loans! Fister I assume you do the same for reporting purposes. Wiltsmark
Would definitely be weird if you was to start bartering with yourself !.
Gunman
Why do we put up with police inefficiency like this . There is no excuse for these delays .
welshwarrior
Good job i have it too as my sgc and fac expired last monday and i had to lodge all my guns with an rfd for storage until my renewal is completed, yes folks thats me too? All gets kind of weird, buying things from yourelf and selling things to yourself. They gave me 8 weeks notice, i did the pperwork in 8 days, had my interview 4 weeks ago but still no new licences ;(I know that feeling BASC advice to me last year was to remind the firearms team that they are liable for any fees my RFD (me) charges me while they take their time to renew my tickets. Also got told I have notify them of sales to me from a company point of view and as an individual so 2 letter not just 1 barking. DaveK
and the AOLQ condition. They seem to be doing that as a matter of course now. Lorraine's came back after a variation with it added. Mine still hasn't.
