Just bought a HW80. You cant compare the shooting. The 80 will hit the strongest part of a dog food can (bottom fold/weld), and pass through with two clean holes at 33yds. Thats with pointed .22, domes should stop most uk pests. Thats for an 80 but a 97 should be well made and giving good power. Pete

I am in the process of convincing Broome Park into letting me get the bloody rabbits that litter our golf course hopefully once I wait another month or so and they dig the **** out of the course after some breeding then the hotel/timeshare company may be more willing to let people shoot on the grounds of the golf course (which they sublet.). Hope all is going well!
WeihrauchPower
hi people i am looking to buy a spring air rifle (weihrauch hw 97k)but thay seem to not be albe to take down pests , i have a bsa meteor but its time it is put in the loft it is 40+ so could you helpfull people of pigeon watch help me thanks What do you mean they seem not to be able to take down pests? The HW97k is more than capable of taking out rabbits. I take it you have fired a HW97k and it seemed underpowered? Did you try some penetrative tests and compare with the meteor? If so the rifle may need the attention of a gunsmith to sort it out. It could just be that the old Meteor was kicking a bit and you aren't used to the more refined Weihrauch. I say this assuming the 97k is fairly new?

WeihrauchPower
you cant legally buy one though, so why ask? What cant you buy? He is 15 Y.O. I used to shoot a Weihrauch HW80 when i was 15 years old (and i was small) they weigh basically the same as the HW97k.You soon put the muscle on where it counts. Saying that though it was because the gun was a gift and the only one i had. If i had been buying a new gun i would have gone for something lighter. Try the 95K!!! It's the break barrel version of the HW97k.
