I have used both.

loriusgarrulus
They unscrew and the split part will go over/round the bead. I fitted one over a permanently fitted moderator. loriusgarrulus
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Uncle-MikeS-QD-Quick-Detachable-Super-Swivels-1593-2-for-1-Slings-800-850-/291089375795?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item43c6476233 This is another type I have used. The barrel clamp is in two pieces, but you have to make sure you get the right size and screw it up tight. Once you are sure where you want it ,its best to put some locktite on the screws as they can work loose. They are very good though if you don't want to use the other type and open them up and close them again. Looking at some pictures of the Beretta A30. The pictures I saw show a wooden forend which would take a screw type swivel. You don't necceserily want the sling too far up on the barrel for the most comfortable carrying position. If yours is like that it might be worth tying a thick cord round various parts of the gun until you find the best place for attaching the swivels as regards balance and carrying it before you decide which swivels to get and drill any attachment hole if you haven't tried this before. loriusgarrulus
If you don't want to drill it at all, you can get slings that just fasten on by loops. Don't know how secure they are as never used one.

Afastr
http://estore.beretta.com/en-eu/beretta-56-front-swivel-al391/ Is this the type of part your after? This one is for the AL391 but it would most likely fit on the 301 aswell, just goes inbetween the fore end and the fore end screw cap thing.
