This sort is good if you haven't got any wood far enough forward for attachment and it fastens round the barrel. I have used both.

wouldnt work on the A301 i know its a single barrel semi but the bead stops that attachmwnt working

This is another type I have used. The barrel clamp is in two pieces, but you have to make sure you get the right size and screw it up tight. Once you are sure where you want it ,its best to put some locktite on the screws as they can work loose.They are very good though if you don't want to use the other type and open them up and close them again.

 

Looking at some pictures of the Beretta A30. The pictures I saw show a wooden forend which would take a screw type swivel. You don't necceserily want the sling too far up on the barrel for the most comfortable carrying position. If yours is like that it might be worth tying a thick cord round various parts of the gun until you find the best place for attaching the swivels as regards balance and carrying it before you decide which swivels to get and drill any attachment hole if you haven't tried this before.
