Suffolk shooter
Please note my Avatar and bottom of my signature. Flag flies 365(6) days a year not just when the **** football team plays or the 23rd April. I have voted already, when there were only 2000 or so votes. Trouble is the lazy **** called politicians will never do it because it might upset the non natives. Whoops how un PC of me. SS
DirtyDeeds
Just put my vote in.... and I don't care about being "un PC"!!! My dad fought for freedom in this country (and the greatest respect for others that have and are still), but now we're so b$^%dy free everyone, even from across the water, want's a slice. To think that my taxes are paying for some bl**&y cleric with a hook to preach propoganda against the country he's livlng in, or that someone else can get legal aid because he doesn't want to be deported for being a terrorists right hand man.... Well, it makes my p^%s boil!!! Sometimes I think our flag is all we have left, and it shouldn't be given up easy, AND WE SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO CELEBRATE IT! Dr W
Count me in. over 700,000 votes so far. There's not enough done in this country to celebrate being English which is where this country falls down on getting immigrants to join in and be part of us. Americans do the whole pledge thing and we should do the same, that idea of Prescotts a few years ago seems to have fallen by the wayside. I for one am proud to be English/British and we should all celebrate the fact.

wickedandlazee
Me too - we seem to celebrate everything but being English in this country - I always take the day off if its in the week anyway!!!! At least the scouts still celebrate it in style with their St Georges day parade - probably about the only ones who do. Did bring a tear to the eye when my lad was chosen to carry the flag at the head of the parade Last year one of them dressed up as an english knight! We should do more of this sort of thing - when i asked my daughterif they did that sort of thing at school she said no - they did bloody divali and ede but not even St Georges day, they didn't even have a harvest festival. To cap it all my little girl came home singing baa baa RAINBOW sheep!!! Sometimes I despair of all this PC rubbish
Axe
This thing should be on the downing street petition site. Anyway, signed.
Dr W
Baa Baa RAINBOW sheep!!!! What the **** is that all about??? Is the word 'black' going to be taken out of the dictionary soon? The funny thing is, is that all this PC **** comes from white, guardian reading do-gooders, if you spoke to anyone of any colour they would say don't be stupid we don't want all this ****. In fact I think it only causes more problems. If I went to another country I wouldn't expect people to change for me, I made the choice to go there and I should make the effort to fit in. Things like Tower Hamlets Council having a 'festival of light' instead of guy Fawkes night is just crazy.

Markio
I voted. Nothing wrong with having an England day in England. Different countries across the world have similar type events were they celebrate their country/roots. And why not! It's very simple and nothing to do with being PC or not. Edit: I voted yes because i want the day of work and not because i'm particularly proud to be English. yeah so what!
Poacher
Ive voted but it doesn't matter how many votes it gets, it won't come to anything......... Tony's just proven that even at the highest level (the recent poll on charging vehicles) any form of public opinion will be ignored by this government
Cranfield
If you want, you can celebrate St Georges Day every day of the year, I do. Every petition I have ever signed (and I have signed a few), never changed anything. Sorry for the reality check. By the way, St George was a Byzantian Christian and probably Syrian by birth.
