pboro shot
Plenty but haven't got 12 months to let it dry out...
welshwarrior
But a pre dried shank and fit your old head think of it like the sticks had a hip replacement, a little down time then it'll be right as rain.

shoot and be safe
If required ASAP. Cut your own down and use it straight away. Have done this many times in the past when I have forgotten mine for beating. Or cut 2 and let the other dry out for next season.
figgy
I've used them green loads in the past. In fact this time of year the sap has dropped into the root ball and the stick should be reasonably dry. You can order blank sticks online. Lord Geordie
A thumb stick os a straight forward job. A pre dried hazle shaft can be had for about £3 up over and a buffalo lyre for about £6. A couple of hours in the shed and you can make something like this!
