kyska
X Trails. What do people think? I need a bigger car, nut not huge or the mrs won't drive it, it'll be used for a day to day use, with some towing of a small trailer to market, and some 'off roading', that's a loose sense in Leicestershire, over stubble etc for shooting. Don't want a freelander, brother in law has one, nothing wrong with them, just don't want the same car. We have a decent hilux on the farm for more 'agricultural' needs. Opinions? hifly
X-trail great motor excellent mpg and towing, loads of room, miles better than a freelander.
JDog
Shouldn't you be changing nappies?

Beardo
it's a great car.... BUT the turbos are notorious for failing around 100k. i just had to replace mine - best part of £800 all inc. bar that, it's very economical and will certainly get your around light offroading

Whitebridges
My missus has just sold her Tekna with 30K on the clock. I drove it now and again and it was just fabulous! Great motor. The new 2014 shape is a lot different so she didn't want another. I've got a really nice set of pimpy wheels that sit in the garage if anyone is interested. kyska
Are they the ones that keep spinning when you stop?
Whitebridges
Are they the ones that keep spinning when you stop? Do wheels do that or are you talking about politicians ? I've just took the torch in the garage and they are black with "BORBET" in the center, there are are four of them. And there are 4 tyres with Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme, made in Holland impressed on the rubber. The missus had winter tyres on another set, so these have done about 12 k miles at a guess. I want them shifted and the A17 is an easy run for you. Edited November 14, 2014 by Whitebridges
GingerCat
I've got a 53 plate, fine off road and loads of room, handles ok and drives well, a bit noisy in the rear but I can live with it. Cheap as chips, most importantly she drives it about without a care in the world so must be ok.
39TDS
Nice to drive, nippy, economical, enough room in the boot for a small village. Mine is constantly broken. As soon as I fix one thing something else breaks, oil pump, timing chain, wheel bearing, drive shaft, other wheel bearing, getting fed up now. You would think you would get to the point where you had fixed everything and now have a good strong car. Maybe you do but I will be bankrupt first. p.s. mine is for sale if you are interested. wymberley
Thanks, I've found one with 14k on the clock, 2l tdi. Edit 41k not 14. You mention towing albeit a small trailer. In case the trailer gets bigger, the 173HP version is better than the 150.
