Ruster
I have seen online in a few forums people refer to the browning ultra XS as a browning citori ultra XS, I was aware that the 325/425/525/725 were all citori models but not the ultra XS. Can anyone confirm if the ultra XS is part of the citori range? I am asking mainly because I see kickeez makes a prefit recoil pad that has citori in its description and was wondering if the ultra XS has the same buttpad dimensions and the prefit citori pad might fit
Daveo26
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I think you might be confusing US market Brownings with UK guns mate. It was just the ultra xs here wasn't it? The Americans have had citoris since forever loads of different versions. The *25 guns over here are not citoris, but they might have been called that in the US? Most Brownings are pretty similar but I'm not convinced it would fit! HDAV
Citori is what the yanks call a miorku made browning, the ultra and the Gti were both 425 based? not sure, in the US they have a 625 which is a 525 with backbored tubes IIRC here it was just the 525 Edited November 27, 2014 by HDAV
Gordon R
The Ultra XS and XT were B425 based from memory.

timps
Yep Gordon is right I had an ultra XS and it was based on the 425 action.
figgy
I looked at the 625 online and it looked like a conventional variation of the Cynergy for the Usa market. Figgy
Westward
Citori is just a generic name for all the Miroku built Brownings since the mid 70s - apart from the Cynergy. The 725 has a few tweaks but from the 325 on the rest of the family used a virtually identical action with only the cosmetics, barrels, chokes and woodwork varying. The 325/425/525/625/725/XT/XS etc. have always been designated as Citoris in the US where they have had literally dozens of variants over the years. Ruster
Well seem you guys all know your stuff looks like I found a good forum to become a member of, intresting replys with some good info thank you all. I didn't realise the American market was different i just did ultra XS searches in Google and didn't even think about looking at the country the forum was based in, from now on i will. Yesterday I sent an email to teague about having the gun fitted and a recoil pad added, I got a call today and have to wait till Tuesday for a detailed chat about what I want, so I think if my pocket allows i will go that route and then I know it's done correctly as from what I have seen teague has a very good rep in the gun community
sishyplops
I thought citori's were heavier than the uk versions, some one on here will know for sure but I'm sure I've read it somewhere
Westward
Not sure about heavier on something like a 425 or 525 sporting but certainly some of the trap variants are heavy - and the Americans love their ATA trap. I remember reading a few years back that Browning in the US were barred from using the word 'Ultra' in respect of the XS. I don't know why but thereafter it was simply XS and XT.
