dead-eye-dick
Apart from the obvious enviromentlal side, has anyone experanced any real diffrence between plastic and fibre shot cups ?? Plastic is suppost to hold the shot in a better patten / fibre is litter free. I am sure one of the sites 'stato's' will have patten tested some cartridges and will know the diffrence to the shooter. I notice most clay shooters still use plastic.
ernyha
d.e.d. On the rare occasions that i go on a clay shoot they usually have a sign up saying "Fibre wads only." When this is the case i change my chokes to a one notch tighter one ie if i think that a 1/4 choke is suitable i will fit the 1/2 choke and fit 3/4 when i would normally use a 1/2. Not sure if this makes me hit any more clays but mentally it makes me feel better thinking i am doing the right thing.
dead-eye-dick
Yes, well I want to try a diffrent sort of cartridge, and they are only avalible with plastic cups, I just wanted to know whether the 'avaridge' shooter would notice a diffrence
NGhost
I notice no difference, my scores with fibre on sporting used to be 40-47 of 50. They are suposed to be slightly wider, but I think it is largely in the mind. (but plastic are cheaper and easyer to load)
jimbogriff
any body use paper cases , we were wondering about using them when roost shooting , as we can never find the cases to pick them up ?
Cranfield
Someone is making cartridges with a bio-degradeable plastic cup. When my memory starts working, I will tell you who. I have seen ballistics reports that clearly show, the patterning from plastic cup cartridges to be more "consistent", than fibre wads. Not better, but more "consistent". hymax12uk
Hi Guys i think you will find that plastic wads will have a little less recoil as well .most fiber waded shells are 65mm lighter loads to componsat for the extra recoil
lurcherboy
I use both and I cannot tell the difference. Those who can must be **** hot guns.
trevor
TREVOR I have used both types of cartridge and find that fiber are much slower than plastic and the fibers patterns are **** at 35 to 45 yards and cost shed loads more.
