Woodlander
I have .22 LR on my ticket and own a CZ bolt action but would also like to get a .22 in semi auto. Could I do a 1 for 1 swap or do I need a seperate slot for a semi? Or if I wanted to keep the CZ,what do I apply for? Thanks

drut
I have both on my ticket, it says bolt action and semi auto ! Same for me except wording bolt action and self loading.I have "need" for both for rabbit control, use bolt for day/longer range & s/a for night/shorter range:especially useful for new shoots & naive rabbits. If you can prove need & are willing to pay the variation fee you can have more than one .22lr or any other calibre.
Les*1066
If you want to do a one for one swap, you just apply for a variation and it won't cost you anything - OR - you can apply for a variation to add the semi and still keep the bolt action. That will cost you £26. Either way, you will need to apply for a variation and you won't be able to buy/sell anything until it comes through. Vince Green
Sometimes they can get a bit funny about having two rifles the same calibre but they shouldn't. Its perfectly acceptable
sle
My ticket does not specify semi or bolt, just 22 lr x 2 . I can have either. Do some peoples tickets state semi or bolt?

Elk hunter
It's a shame not all police forces read from the same book. Leicestershire police are excellent regarding FAC and just a variation for a .22 LR will do. But I know of other forces who wish you to specify the type of .22 LR also some forces ask you to specify what c/f calibre you intend to buy. Where as my county you can still ask for a .30 cal and have any in that range from 308 to 300wm . welshwarrior
I put mine in and got 3 22 rifles I suppose I could have had any 22cf but wanted rimfires, swap my intended 22wmr slot to hmr but no mention a action type.
activeviii
I think most police forces give you what you ask for, ask for a semi auto and they write, semi auto. Ask for bolt action and they write bolt action. I ask for 22rf and get 22rf. I do have both s/a and b/a but in theory I could have gone for 22wmr
kyska
Blimey think ill move to leicestershire ... They are excellent, I moved half a mile over the border, and what a difference! I had similar with my 22cf, it was just that, .22cf on my ticket.
Vince Green
Yes and yet when a friend if mine moved to Leicestershire from London he got all sorts of grief from some Jobsworth in Leics. People come and go in these organisations.
