Yorkshire Pudding
I know your mum or better looking half tell you that olive oil is the way to go when frying stuff..... But it ain't olive oil is a low temp. oil and will burn off when your frying pan gets hot , and hence stuff sticks .. Be a man and fry in lard or beef dripping , or if your lucky enough goose fat !! all the best yis delia smiths gusset !!!!
Vermin Dropper
use veg oil or ground nut oil, The thing to do is heat the pan first for a while before you add the oil, also if you want to use butter clarify it first to prevent the milky deposits burning, if you want to get the butter hotter use a little oil with it, but always heat the pan first. ollie
I once knew a shooting man who had a fry every morning dripping in lard and he went on to live well into his 90's.
cooky
Try cooking with nothing in the pan as most meat will leak out fats especially sausage or if you need oil like Vermin says use groundnut oil
Big Angus
Myself being a ex member. I agree on what brooktrout said about Diesel. In my day we would have used OMD65. Once you aguire the taste you will use it to fry anything. :(

Fisherman Mike
My Father in Law ( Now retired ) was an Industrial Chemist for a Major Oil Company whose automotive products are famous. During the latter years of his career he concentrated on sales to small ( Non Key) accounts One of his major outlets was mineralised oil ( Proper distilled and refined black stuff, not vegetable) to many hundreds of Fish and Chip shops nationwide!!!! So before the trend in vegetable oil we were all probably frying our chips in diesel or a derivative of it.
Fisherman Mike
I once knew a shooting man who had a fry every morning dripping in lard and he went on to live well into his 90's. On the same theme.... I once new a similar man who had a fry up twice a day at the local greasey joes.... He lived well into the 90,s also.... Unfortunately he was born in 1975
