Nice pic, fantastic little birds. :good:

Do you use any post processing?

I have Lightroom and Photoshop which are great for bringing out shadows and highlights in photo's. I hope you don't mind but I put your image in Lightroom for 2 mins just to try and illustrate what I mean. I did crop the pic a lot to concentrate on the subject, then brought up a few of the shadowy areas, a tiny bit of sharpening, warmed the tones and added a bit of vignetting to give it a wintry feel.

Took about 2/3 mins. Hope it's ok.

P.S. If you decide to go down the PP route it's usually best to shoot using your cameras RAW function, it'll give you far more control over post processing.

And you should only photoshop you're own stuff.

It's not Photoshopped.

I used Lightroom, and used the OP's image simply to show what it can be used for and how quick it is. Far easier to post a picture than try to explain in words.

since I dont have a problem with what poontang did to demonstrate what lightroom can do.......................why should you?

my only comment to that is I can certainly see the utility that a program like that gives a photographer. in this instance whilst I appreciate that you have altered the picture merely to demonstrate what lightroom can do, for my personal taste

I have to say that the effect is not quite what I would be looking for ...somehow it seems less.....natural?. It is to me more like a "christmas card" picture than a "natural picture". however the potential of lightroom demonstrated by this is interesting and I may well investigate it....

I take your point ablout shooting in RAW format, but there is a question of storage capacity....RAW pictures and massive files....

If you shoot in raw you will be able to do so much more with your photos.

Amazing what can be done with photoshop.

Personal I think it's cheating :whistling:

No, no, no, it's just cropped, and used the thirds rule to its potential for the great original pic.

VIMH, just use a external hard drive if you're worried about RAW.

Nice work keep then coming.

GG :good:

^^^^^

And that's praise, I have a print of one of GG's pics on my wall he kindly let me use.
