Guest cookoff013
well, as its miroku and the pins do dent / pit after a while, just planning on preventative service instead of "my guns broke, why didnt i have it serviced sooner." Gunman
After discussion with the customer as to any specific problem a modern O/U such as a Miroku/Browning, a proper service should commence with an external examination to look for cracks etc. in the wood work ,and for dents bulges or other faults with the barrels i.e.. loose ribs . Strip down to component level ,all parts thoroughly cleaned ,reassemble replacing strikers ,bottoms usually need to be replaced more often than tops a pair of new main springs and lever spring if considered necessary , Check bites to see if there is adequate hold , polish out bores to remove any leading as well as in multi chokes ,check the forend is not loose and the catch is functioning correctly . Test fire bottom top and vice versa checking pulls and safe function. Any findings or causes for concern that have not been discussed prior to work commencing reported to the customer before completion . Minor adjustments such as tightening a forend or regulating ejectors should be done as part of the job . On the Miroku /Brownings soft/dragging trigger pulls can usually be improved by fitting new main springs ,

joecash
Air line - can of WD40 - £2. +1 I spoil mine and use Napier products! If it aint broke dont fix it, just keep it clean and lightly oiled - these can fire hundreds of thousands of shells without missing a beat. That's why,as long as it fits, they are so sought after and hold their price - no better gun for the money. Yes, couldn't agree more, sensible advice, no "service" is liable to pick up a spring just about to break, and that's about all that go wrong with these very reliable guns. Cat.
