Dekers Posted February 20, 2015 Report Share Posted February 20, 2015 Rifle to rifle there isn't as much in it as some may think, but the T3 edges it for me simply because the vast majority of the Remington use a floor plate (including mine) and I much prefer the magazine...so T3 NOW..if you are looking at building your own rifle I would suggest you start with a Remington every time. Redgum Posted February 20, 2015 Report Share Posted February 20, 2015 My very first new centrefire was a Remington 700, it taught me two things, never to buy a Remington again and there are many great bargains to be had secondhand. Tikka all the way for me now, yes you can make a Remington 700 shoot but you will have to think about sorting a trigger, stock and bedding plus the barrels can be a lottery. zx10mike Posted February 21, 2015 Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 you can get a very nice barnard trigger to fit a tikka but if your on a budget then dave from valkyrie rifles does the lighter trigger springs.tikka all the way for me,can't say they shoot any better just a better quality feel to the rifle .if it was just for foxing then personally i would have the light weight hunter with a big knod and trigger spring.i have never picked up a remy and its done it for me. It was not recalled for being 3lb minimum and mine certainly isn't. Most factory field gun triggers do not have adjustment to particularly low pull weight, simply because in the field it can be dangerous. My 700SPS runs around 2lb, as do both of my T3's, these are all factory standard triggers which I have adjusted to my preference. My rimfires all run a little lower. For field work there isn't a lot between the Remington X-Mark Pro and the T3 trigger, but I would give it to the T3 (Just). Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
