walshie
What's the most effective way of getting rid of voles? I assume it's voles as it's near my veg patch and I saw something dart down a hole and it looked like a mouse. The tunnel holes are about 1 1/2" and perfectly round. Thanks. ben0850
If you have a load of holes in the grass, inch or so in diameter and 'grazed' around the hole then it's mice, we get loads around the garden and the dry stone walls this time of year. Little blighters make a right mess if left unchecked.

If this is the sort of thing you are suggestion I would be 95%+ it is vole! Edited March 17, 2015 by Dekers
spandit
My dog seems to catch quite a few & the pair of barn owls that have moved in must be eating some too

walshie
Why do you want to get rid of them? My garden is full of them some years and they do not do any harm. Because they are eating the roots of my vegetable patch.

Cheezy
Believe they are vole holes, they are not protected, but do provide owls, kestrels etc with grub. Simple way to get rid is to place a mouse trap close to entrance covered over to protect non target species, ie birds etc, little bit of peanut butter and will catch. Could try sharp sand down the holes, been told dont like it and will move on ATB
