al4x
I'd be extra careful if a vixen seed a pup anywhere near she will kill it given half the chance

Scully
Despite having trail cams up for a couple of weeks all we saw were badgers and roe, then yesterday as we were walking away from one camera I spotted a cub running into gorse, so we ventured out last night. First flash of light lit up countless pairs of eyes like candles on the banking and we spotted the adult running at some distance, why she never barked I'll never know but mate had time to shoot at her at around 150 yards when I squeaked her to a stop, but through a fence. As **** law would have it he must have pinged the fence as she ran off after the shot. The cubs meanwhile showed up for the next two hours in which time we accounted for 11 cubs for 12 twelve shots; the missed one being the first at the vixen. Very messy and quite sad, but very humane; those 58grn ballistic tips don't take prisoners.
Bewsher500
11 cubs in one litter?! christ! not seen any yet and my trap has dried up so am assuming they will be out anytime now
Scully
We don't know there was just one litter to be honest. We had a very similar experience this time last year but suspected there was more than one litter involved; this may have been the case this time also. Alycidon
I found a litter of 4, staked it out, first night saw 3 adults but could only get a shot at one, a large dry vixen, then found a cub at the base of my ladder !!. Second stake out nothing showed at all. Magpie trap, side entry 150 yards from where the cubs were has caught 2 of them this week, shame really as I need the dead adults. Stake out again Friday and see where we go. A
