Livefast123
Sounds like my Lanber just with 2 triggers.........approx 1981?
rimfire4969
Not sure Lanber really got into the naming their guns. I think they are mostly called Sporting, Field or Hunter. I would look at one of the gun sales website like Gunwatch or Guntrader put in your search options and match a photo to your gun.
subsonicnat
Hi Lads thanks for input. Emailed GMK. Came back as he is stumped as well.?. He thinks<<<<, its before 1975 as the number is very low in his list.? Its the double triggers as well, thats throwing a wobbly. Its a cracking old gun, very comfortable to use and balances a treat. But,,, Would still like to know, roughly when it was made.. I think they were took over by..? BERETTA or BROWNING in the last two years, one or theother anyway. Keep try Lads, got me going this one.. welshwarrior
They went bust not taken over! Good guns but sounds like an early double trigger non ejector never known other than lanber double trigger non ejector.
Gunman
In 1980 I was selling them for £180 the ejector was about £240 both had single triggers and were then just called Lanbers it was only later that "models " became the norm . If you can find the proof date which will be a letter and a single digit number then the proof year can be found. Livefast123
Mine is proof marked on the barrel block so should be fairly easy to find the proof date, GMK couldn't tell me anything about mine either.
subsonicnat
Thanks Lads. Gunman, forgot, it is a non ejector.?. Yes, I know they went bust two years ago,, Hence no more spares for them. Have to be made probably by a gunsmith.. Apparently as they were the lower end market gun, they last for years, and were very well thought of in all reviews. Not bothered if it does go wrong, l can make me own bits and bobs,Hope I do not have to.lol. But I read somewhere on the net they had been bought out after the crash, by said gunmakers.. One or the other,!. Will look for said marks now.. The only marking I can See are. The Number.....15309 and an X.1 and TG 12-70 .. Any ideas now... and of course the gun number.. triumphant59
X*1 is the date code for 1978 so that is when it was made. It was about that time that the Spanish makers started to move from sxs to o/u try and save their industry. Laurona made their last sxs in that year to concentrate on o/u and their early guns where all double triggers so guess Lamber were similar in using double triggers as was the norm back then. loriusgarrulus
There are a lot of spares about for Lanber advertised at various companies, so spares don't seem to became problem for now.

littlerob
My mate got his lamber in 79 from kays catalogue was delivered when he was not at home just proped up by his door in it box not even disguised in wrapping paper how have times changed
Gunman
As to spares the model has been through several changes in some cases later guns reverting to earlier designs due to problems with modifications .This effectively means that parts will not fit all guns . They were a basic but reasonably well made gun and I sold a lot as "starter" guns but as prices increased they became less competitive with better guns[ Beretta Miroku etc.] on the second hand market. subsonicnat
Thanks for replys all. Now what I forgot to put down for all gunsmiths, budding or what ever:: The Firing Pins are locked in Not by two cross pins as is usual but by a Single Pin running up through the CENTRE of the TOP LEVER..?. The Side of the Block shows no sign of how they are held in, as a gunsmith near near me said,, "Devious Devils Weren't They". Very True.
