A few rabbits

With tonight being such a lovely evening and my head full of work and stress i headed off out to try and shoot a few rabbits on a horse livery farm where the farmer had mentioned rabbit numbers building.

The spot in question is a lovely part of East Yorkshire but is covered in public footpaths, which with people walking around till gone 9 pm at this time of year makes the shooting tricky.

I headed out with my trusty Falcon raptor in .177 but as i reached for my pellets i only had 42 left in the tin.

Never the less i proceeded and on arrival a good sized grass parkland had recently been cut for hay and the bales taken away which meant easy access with the landrover.

A mate drove the landrover round the perimiter of the field whilst i shot resting on the wing mirror.

In just over an hour i shot 13 and picked 12 and came home with 18 pellets.

The permission has good numbers of very healthy rabbits, but given the amount of walkers about it's probably best to wait for the nights to draw in and the lamp them to make a good bag.

The Farmer was happy i had a go tonight and agreed about the lamping.

Besides i will hopefully be too busy shooting pigeons in the coming weeks. ;)
