jayDT10
Then you can shoot them if you so wish ! I do not think you have understood my original posts , which was regarding someone who has no crops to protect at all on either his own land or anyone elses , he is assuming he can shoot them because they are causing crop damage "somewhere" even though it is on land he has not been asked to protect . If you did not have those peas a mile from your house or even five miles from your house or any where else you could not shoot the pigeon in your garden for crop protection Again as above I do not have to assume that pigeon in my garden are damaging crops I can shoot because I can watch them do it ! he said he has no crop to protect but he has permission from a landowner to shoot vermin ,
Underdog
Yep, pigeon eat grass, chick weed and clover. They just take the fresh tips off grass, especially in spring. Old keepers called it Dr Green, they are getting ready to breed and need some Dr Green etc.
CharlieT
I am sure it is , but I have shot sveral 100,000 pigeon over the years and have never seen one stuffed with grass , best spread some clover seed Did you not bother to actually read my post before replying in such a flippant way. Had you done so you would have read this...... "My grass is the cornerstone of my livlihood and I protect it from pigeons who, at certain times of the year, have the audacity to land on it and eat the clover" and this......"If you didn't realise it, clover, which is part of my grass mix"
Harnser
Fen boy ,you are digging your self into a hole . But then I think it is quite normal for Lincolnshire people to live in holes in the ground . Harnser

Most recently was a couple years ago just outside Dereham where I shot 60+ one afternoon. This field was specifically used for grazing. I hope to god there is some common sense in this world and I haven't been breaking the laws of this land.

Harnser Harnser I am digging no hole at all , I am expessing my view , if its wrong then its wrong I have no problem with that , it will not be the first time I have been wrong on here and it most likely will not be the last , when I have been wrong in the past I have always been man enough to admit that , as I will be in this case once I have had natural Englands reply . I do not know how many time on this thread I have to say I do not care at all what others get up to with regard to shooting pigeon crack on with it I care not , my care is that I am complying and the way I go about shooting pigeons will not alter what ever natural Englands response and I trust no one elses will either . As for living in a hole in the ground , that is fine speak from a Norfolk man !
