I have to say I love this build but why oh why did you stick to the poo colour a nice green would have looked so much better just because Land Rover ran out of green paint when they made it and had to use some old paint that they had left over from the war does not mean that you cannot change it. :sad1::whistling::lol::good:

I kept the (poo) colour as you call it cos I wanted to keep it original. Every other series you see is bronze green.

It's not every day you see one russet brown. And in 1982 they only did them in russet brown or massi red.

The colour does grow on you though. And will look spectacular when it's all done and has the stripes on. Which has also been suggested I not bother with them. But it wouldn't look right without them.

I really like that colour. I had a tan coloured 1979 registered one, now that was a bad colour!

I didn't like the colour when it was first floated. However, it has grown on me and looks really smart and rare.

same here gordon, :good::good:

Hey viking, check out how many members Pigeon Watch has, raffle it, if every member bought a ticket for a quid you would do nicely :lol::lol:

This one has been for sale by me for about 3 years now.

last count i was up to £9k, with painting still to pay for, tyres wheels, roof lining being made still to be paid, few other bits and bats, so im thinking around £13-£14k by the time im done, and as for sale price, hard to say, i guess its worth what someones prepared to pay for it, but the thing with mine is its quite rare, done to what id like to thing a very high standard, no stone left unturned, there will be someone out there who would love to own it and have the money to pay for it and realise its true value, it might take some time to locate said person, but ill be in no rush to sell, i think to start it will go up for £20k and see how we go :good::good::good::good:

PS, im not saying yours isn't rare, or done up to a high standard. as im sure it is,

thought you were a photographer not a land rover restorer :hmm::hmm:

Mine is neither as I have no interest in it, I only did it up as it made the drive look untidy (as I was told). I would have thought you would get close to £20K without too much trouble and quite quickly. It is a pity it is not done as you could bring it to http://www.lroshow.com/

All those buyers in one place, I'll be dumping mine there.
