lloydi73
Well, following on from my last message, the Farmer has finally given me the 2nd permission leading from J-Dog's introduction on the first bringing my total to 3 now. I introduced the farmer to my lamping partner and off we set literally 50 yards from the farmers house are the fields. As soon as we drove through the gate, 5 juicy bunnies were sat watching us. My Partner slowly crept out, loaded up (as a big no no to travel with loaded magazine) and bang, bagged the first 2 bunnies and the other 3 scarpered at the crack of the 17......The farmer said he was overrun with rabbits, knowing farmers propensity to exaggerate, right we thought, probably about 20 on the farm......ha, 2 hours later and just as darkness was falling, we left having run out of ammo (as we thought we were only going to get permission we threw rifles in just in case and a box of bullets) and bagging 47..........Fun times ahead on this permission and a big big thank you J Dog!! lloydi73
Morning J Dog, yes that's the best bag of bunnies to date, even better, it was in daylight so no need to mess about with lamps......Are you shooting the pigeons there as well?.....Its the 5 fields as you turn left out the farmyard gate and drive just down the hill 50 yards and through the gate on the right.....There were quite a few flying about Saturday afternoon whilst we were there........The first farm is back on limits in another 3 odd weeks Farmer says, once he's cut.......When you down next so I can buy you another steak?!? Euget123
Excuse my ignorance but Can we not travel with loaded magazine? Obviously when out of the rifle. ET
steve_b_wales
Excuse my ignorance but Can we not travel with loaded magazine? Obviously when out of the rifle. ET Some police forces class a loaded magazine as a loaded rifle, even when the magazine is not in the rifle. I only load mine when I reach my destination. lloydi73
Excuse my ignorance but Can we not travel with loaded magazine? Obviously when out of the rifle. ET No body's ignorant, we all need to learn at some time!! I recently successfully completed my DSC 1, and there they teach you that transporting a loaded magazine, even if it is not in the rifle but stored separately, the police class this as a loaded weapon and is a big no no.....I don't know if that is country wide or county specific, but if DSC are teaching that, I'm certainly not going to risk my long awaited FAC on testing it out, so we always travel with empty magazines until on the land we are going to shoot......Hope this little bit of info helps out Euget....... ET Each to their own, my 22 mags are left full all the time wether in the cabinet, pocket or in my rifle.

I will let you know when I am down next. If the pigeons do not turn up here shortly it will be sooner rather than later. Oh yes, another steak how nice. Keep up the good work you seem to be enjoying yourself.
