WelshMike
To be honest I don't want big bags I'm happy with a dozen ( need a slab for that lol) As long as I enjoy it that is wot matters As you say as long as it is enjoyable thats all that counts. I think that expectation is the biggest issue. When you have a decent day you judge other days by this...well I do.
-ben-
38 Acres might produce a big bag just have to be the right conditions and of course the bird there are many factors that affect the size of the bag. You need to put allot of leg work in. I've personally got around 10,000 acres and usually prime pigeon shooting grounds but this year there have been no number and I've not even bothered going. Probably have been the possibility but wrong place and wrong time.

WinchesterDave
I know how you feel it would be good but my recently accuired permission has been cut and actually managed to.decoy for the first time whilst out by my self and not with an experienced shooter. I ended up with 10 birds and I was over the moon thinking that it was a big bag haha! ! I absolutely loved it and what a sight it is to see birds commit to your pattern keep it up and one day you'll get it- I say that but I feel the same as you lol
Muddy Funker
Be prepared to move around within your 35 acres if nothings happening if that's possible.Don't be afraid to swap around decoy patterns if things are slow. Little changes can sometimes bring an instant result. As long as you enjoy it you're doing it right.
pigeon controller
35 acre is quite restrictive, drive around until you see birds causing problems and knock on the door and ask for one days shooting. If you do well let them know and you might get another permission. You can only shoot the birds that are there or are going the return. You will see from my posts that we have to travel to find the birds , when we find them then you have to get them to decoy. When I started I can remember dawn till dusk on rape for nine birds . The birds would come in from roost and then return going back to roost . It taught me to go and find where they spent the rest of the day.
