Royboy
Took my dog for a run on Tuesday and when I got back I washed him off I noticed a BIG gash just under his chest, I mean a gash deep enough to see ribs ! But it didn't seem to bother him, he's at the vet today being stitched up and I think he's more bothered about he cone on his head than the wound ! If it was me with that gash I'd be in hospital for a month !!!
Hayden
Completely agree. Their pain threshold must be way higher than ours. Similar thing happened to one of mine. My father in law was taking her for a walk, she managed to impale herself on something (Stick/piece of metal), and continued on an hour walk with only a slight limp, I got home to find a big tear in the skin on her chest, between her chest and her front leg. Ended up at the vets with 10 stitches! I think she was more worried about not being able to go beating the day after, than the wound! Cheers Hayden
The Mighty Prawn
They are nails, my boy had a tennis ball sized growth removed from the base of his tail, was super sorry the first night and next morning up and at em despite the 22 stitches in the wound

fortune
Tough. I was stroking a lab that I had and noticed the end of what I thought was a small thorn in her side. I worked through the fur and found it. The only trouble was that I couldn't pull it out. eventually I used a pair of mini mole grips to grip it and I had to pull it really hard to get out a blackthorn about two inches long. Anyone that has been speared by a blackthorn will know that it damn well hurts and can go really septic. The dog didn't even show any discomfort at all. other injuries to my other dogs have been torn ears ( Blood everywhere). Groins ripped open on barbed wire and odd bits of skin ripped by who knows. none of the above have gone by without any concern by the dogs at all. They just want to carry on hunting. The only time that any of the dogs has cried was when one of them got it's back leg through the top square of sheep netting and it was suspended by it's leg upside down. I was nearly awarded an Olympic gold for the quickest 30 mtrs of all time to get to the dog and get it's leg out of the fencing. It was lucky not to have a broken leg. there was no limping or any sort of concern other than to get on the trail of the cock bird that it was tracking. A dog is the best friend that you will ever have.

activeviii
Must be catching. Wife was Ked dogs tea time yesterday. 9pm she noticed a mark under armpit. 10:30pm I was in the vets. Midnight I was £500 lighter and dog was stitched with 7 top stiches and one inside. All he wants to do is brake everyone's legs with the lampshade.
