Dave-G
hi all can anyone help please I have been told that DAVE-G done a thread in which he showed how to mod a e700 camera so you can add a 50mm lens to a project box for making a spotter but cant seem to find it found a couple of his posts but the pictures were no longer available so if anyone inc the man himself can help it would be good Hi hodge, Sorry mate, I did have some bespoke screw on lens adaptors custom made with wide necks to help get C mount lenses fitted to a box for an E700 spotter build. They were popular enough at the outset to make them worthwhile investing in - but ever cheaper builds with ever cheaper components became the buy word - pun intended. I later had issues getting them from my regular machinist so hacked them about for quotes and all were over twice the cost I previously paid for them. Long story short - I cannot justify reinvesting in more expensive one's while so many people steer potential buyers to cheaper mass produced one's that still do the job nearly as well. It's not a bitch about the cheaper alternatives - just an understanding that most people will buy the cheaper one's so I don't wish to tie money up in slow moving parts. hawkeye
I got one from Dave a couple of weeks ago not had chance to try it out yet due to school holidays and having 2 grandsons here. They have gone back to London and now its bloody foggy every night so i cannot get out. Been round a few camera shops today to try to get a different handle for it as the one that came with it i find hard to hold with having big hands and the handle being slim been looking for a pistol grip type that would be better for me. Its a nice piece of kit Pete ( hodge 911 ) you have my number give me a call and come down when the fogs gone to try it out you know where i live, as i said nice compact job just the handle i have trouble with it if i cannot find a pistol grip type i will just have to bulk it out with pipe lagging.. Lord Geordie
Mike ordered one online last night! Seems to be a bit of scope for modification (no pun intended) of the seat on the grip as there is a lip between the main body and the lens shroud that leaves limited room for a standard grip to fit! The kit is indeed a nice looking and compact unit, I am hoping to see it in operation once the nights are less foggy. LG

Atb Dave Dave that would be great if you had one just in case the one I've ordered does not fit..
