Paul T
Decided to take my spanking new Cogswell 20 bore O/U out for a day on the pheasants and partridge today. Did miss a couple of driven birds I'd normally get with the SxS , but it does shoot quite a bit higher than I'm used to. Plus it was hellish windy and the birds were riding it to their advantage. It's a huge improvement on lugging round the old 12 bore claybusting O/U though. I tried two lots of cartridges - the 26g #6 SIPE seemed a little punchy while the 24g #5 Velox (?) were easier on the shoulder. We'll see which I prefer as the season progresses. Very pleased with it though and it's drawn blood on it's first game shoot, so I couldn't ask for much more.
E.w.
Well done you, I've been thinking of a 20g for my pheasant shooting my mate shoots one and he tells me it's a lot easier than the 12g for a days shooting, I must say he shoots very well with it, might be time for a change for this old man.
