Dbw1shrops
Hi massive, just a quick one is it legal to leave your dog in the house all day whilst you go out to work As my new neighbour does this and as soon as the postie comes or anyone making a noise he starts barking and carries on for ages, it disturbs my sleep as I work a night shift. Atb Dave If it wasn't legal their are a lot of criminals about. The constant barking is a nuisance though and needs sorting. Before making a complaint to the council why not have a polite word with him. They might not realize he is doing this while they are out. Worth mentioning sound activated citronella collars are good for stopping this available off eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PETSAFE-SPRAY-ANTI-BARK-STOP-CITRONELLA-DOG-BARKING-CONTROL-COLLAR-/181990272185?hash=item2a5f772cb9:g:Pl0AAOSwLN5WliqW Edited January 14, 2016 by loriusgarrulus
mart46
As above. Not illegal, but a real pain to live with. Explaining the situation to the neighbour in the first instance is always best. After that, the local council will have a Noise / Nuisance team who will pop round and investigate
eieieio
It isn't illegal but I think it is unfair on both the dog and the neighbours. Most of us have to work but arrangements should be made so it can at least be let out for 20 minutes to have a ****. Wee
rimfire4969
Many years ago we had a rescue dog that barked when we were out even though it was only left for an hour or so a time. We had no idea it went on until our Neighbour told us. We went with a citronella collar similar to the one listed above to help control the barking and it worked very well. I would always suggest trying to sort it between yourselves before getting the council involved as there will be no repairing your relationship after that. billytheghillie
I had same problem years ago with 2 dogs upstairs. Had a word with neighbour but he ignored me. So I put some laxative chocolate through letterbox for the 2 wee yaps, when neighbour came home I could hear him shouting and going of his head. I know it sounds cruel, but he never left them in alone again.
