  1. When my lab retrieves from water he often makes a horrible gargling(sort of) breathing noise after grabbing the bird or dummy. When he gets out of the water he then seems very out of breath for a couple of seconds. He is fit and they are only short retrieves so he must be taking on water. Anyone else have this? Will he get a better technique with more practice? Thanks
  2. It isn't illegal but I think it is unfair on both the dog and the neighbours. Most of us have to work but arrangements should be made so it can at least be let out for 20 minutes to have a ****. Wee

    Benidorm

Probably won't be watching it then, I quite fancy Janice Garvey.

    Tarantino.

I thought Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Django Unchained were great films. Django slightly less. Kill Bill films average, Inglorius Basterds was worse. Never seen Death Proof but it sounds terrible. I would watch hateful 8 but the fact it is over 3 hours puts me off.
  5. I was speaking to a gundog trainer not so long ago and they said that providing you get the right lines there are some decent ones about.
  6. My mrs didn't want a gun in the house either - I now have one. The mrs didn't want a dog - I now have one. The mrs definitely didn't want a second dog - i'm picking it up next month. To keep her sweet I paid for a weekend away and an overpriced handbag from House of Fraser. Three options (although it looks like you may have to settle for number 1) 1) Dads house. Depends how much ear ache you are going to get from the mrs and how laid back your dad is with any early morning visits to collect the gun. 2) Install the cabinet in the loft and out of her and the kids sight. When the feo came to my house my mrs was out. The feo just asked if anyone else lived in the house, I said yes, he said ok. That was it. 3) Install a cabinet where you like and just let the mrs deal with it but book for the feo to come round when she is out for the day. This depends on your relationship with her though and how she is likely to react.
  7. What is the etiquette for an organised rough day?
  8. No doubt a silly question - would mutton heart cook the same as lambs hearts? Stuffed lambs hearts wrapped in bacon is one of my favourite dinners.
  9. They told me 12 weeks to process a sgc. Received it in roughly 5 weeks, maybe a little less.
  10. Facebook is the worst thing ever invented and nothing would shock me on there. Anyway, I'm just about to log in and give my opinions/advice on eco energy, quantum physics, brain surgery and the current state of the financial markets. As I work full time as a supermarket trolley man I'm qualified to give these views.
  11. I tried raw for a bit. I saw no difference in condition although there is a lot less waste to clear up. I like Millies Wolfheart although it would be quite expensive if you have a lot of dogs.
  12. Domesticated dogs aren't wild nor are they wolves. In the wild the only thing that matters is survival. In domesticated dogs it mostly matters wether you have been judged to conform to a breed standard or have ftch in your parentage. My understanding is that joint problems can be caused by a mixture of diet, genetics and over exercise. I would be sensible with diet and exercise without becoming too paranoid. You want to enjoy your dogs and not worry every time you take them out.
  13. Rascal, Teal, Petra, Poppy, Millie. Bitches that I have named.
  14. Sloes, gin and sugar. Nothing else needed apart from good old patience and the longer you wait, the better it is. Forget the presents, I'm just looking forward to Xmas to open the bottle from October 2014.
  15. BBC Good Food website. Pheasant and bacon pie. Easy and delicious. The meat is more tender when cooked and then reheated the next day.
  16. Here is a picture of my pooch retrieving a duck from the pond. Sorry about the poor quality picture.
  17. Shows she's done a good days work.
  18. I met one for the first time the other day. They are impressive dogs and I didn't think that the coat was oily when stroking it. They seem less 'wired' than the labs I am familiar with and less bothered about people. The dog I saw seemed to put up with attention rather than enjoy it. Definitely want one in the future.
  19. If they weren't going to give you a sgc based on your previous conviction(s) then I cannot see why they wasted time and resources coming to see you and check your security arrangements? Seems a bit back to front to me.
  20. Thanks. I am probably being really stupid and I expect to be laughed at, but when I put bvgv.org into the address bar it comes up with 'BIO Ventures for Global Health'?
  21. If you want a slower spaniel then working Clumbers seem to be coming quite fashionable. The minor breed clubs put on quite a few good events throughout the year by all accounts.
