My eldest has the bigger horse power version - just coming up to three years old. It is rapid, but possibly the worst 4 x 4 - apart from a SWB Shogun, that I have ever ridden in. The ride is harsh to be polite and very uncomfortable. My wife - who was sat in the back seats - said it was awful.

The stop / start - which can be switched off - is annoying.

As soon as the registrations change - March - he picks up a new Mercedes GLE. He has driven both - different planet.

I, well Mrs, has the higher power oil burner on 63 plate, in R Line..30mpg combined including motorway stuff, can't imagine what around town... It's a lump for sure, very roomy inside and boot OK, compared to a Merc ML or GL the ride is firm, but then a Merc is like driving a jelly ( i had an ML for two months and then changed company car). With air suspension the ride is MUCH better and it's worth the money, it is very very close to Cayenne to drive on road but without the extra costs, copes fine with limited off roading that shooting requires, I have been very pleased with it, but as above the stop start isn't the best (about the only criticism). Service and tyre costs great, current bridgestones have done 21k and no way near wearing out yet. If and when we change it it will be for the same or Audi Q7 as 7 seats would be handy now and again and it's the same platform.
