walshie
A few mallards seem to be coming regularly to my pond. Earlier this morning I saw a pair asleep on the bank. Would building/buying them a duck house be a good idea or would it just make them easy prey for the foxes? Would they even use it? Yesterday I saw 3 pairs, so I assume they wouldn't share the house. clakk
A cheap electric fence might keep the foxes at bay ,without bothering the ducks. There,s one near us used every year by some breeding Mallards.Just remember to claim the Duck house on Expense,s care of your MP Edited January 30, 2016 by clakk
Lloyd90
I can't remember where it was but a wildfowling guy I had on Facebook adapted a trick he saw from the USA where they have a tube filled of hay on a scaffold pole about 3ft off the ground around their ponds Apparently did great thing for the numbers of mallard and even used by some geese
