wizzard83
I have a bsa scorpion rs platinum special edition. Cost £800 new and it is mint. Everything is perfect. I've been looking to sell it recently and I've been offered a swap for a daystate mk4 is target. The rifle is apparently mint and comes boxed and with everything needed except a scope. This is very tempting but the question is should I do it, or am I opening myself up to a world of trouble? I was thinking I could always sell on the daystate for about the same I was asking for the bsa so no harm done but is there anything that I should be wary of? Thanks all. figgy
Evo is your man. As he has had all the guns from the makers, will give you good unbiased advice. I'm not sure how big the market is for ltd edition Air Rifles so can't give any advice.
wizzard83
I've had an offer of £650. It's not really what I wanted but the cash would be handy. Getting my grubby mits on an electric trigger daystate is very tempting tho, and my thinking was that I could always sell it on if I need the cash in the future. Just wondering what to look out for. The last thing I want to do is swap a £650 mint condition Ltd for a £200 for spares dud!
winnie&bezza
I'd of put this in airguns section.

secretagentmole
As long as it works properly, holds charge and is accurate I would say you are robbing the bloke!
wizzard83
That's what I thought mole but that's the problem! He must know what both rifles are worth, so he must know he's getting the wrong ed of the deal and that makes me nervous..
Zetter
The Daysate Target or as it was the panther were retailing at about £1300 new. I would say yes but on the condition you have a go with it and check out as Mole says its holding a charge and shoots a good group. That are basically a Daystate MK4 in an HFT type stock. Really nice rifle although a bit heavy for field use IMO it could be to be honest that hes had on sale for a while and fancied a change or something Special edition. The only down side for you is if it needs a service/ new batteries it could cost a bit.
wizzard83
Yeah... daystate service is £200 at least plus postage. I know the screen comes on so it is definitely charged. I'll have to have a look on Saturday but the pictures I've seen are absolutely mint so it looks honest. We shall see.
Salop Matt
As others have said, check it over in detail. It sounds like a good swap and remember the Daystate service may be £200 at Daystate but there are other approved folk who can under take the same work for you. Mine went 5 years without servicing and only then got done as I felt duty bound, there were no actual issues. ATB Matt
wizzard83
so update, i went to see the rifle and it is as good as he said, apparently the guy got the daystate as part of a deal but dodnt like the electric trigger. he said he has an R10 elite and an Ultra elite so he needed the laminate stock Scorpion ti complete his set. long story short we both walked away happy with the deal, and now i just need to decide whether i keep the Daystate for a bit or sell it on... thanks everyone for your input

Depends, find an independent gun smith who is Daystate accredited and there you go, much cheaper. If you are anywhere near Norfolk/Lincs border check out St Clement Guns, he knows what he is doing with Daystate Electrics as well. He is an accredited Daystate Service Agent! Plug your Daystate in once a month whether you have shot it or not and charge it!

wizzard83
I'll get some pics up asap. Gotta find a scope to go on top now! I'm definitely gonna keep it for a short time. Got an hft meet coming up so that will put it through its paces. Mole I'm nowhere near lincs at the moment bit my grandad does live there so I could always take it up when I go to see him. Thanks for the recommend.
secretagentmole
No problem, I can vouch for Vince's work on my mk 3. Good bloke who knows what he is doing, old fashioned gun shop that contains way more delights than a shop that size should!

Zetter
Billy bargain on that one mate. Having the Hamster included was a nice bonus as I think they are sold separately at a couple of hundred quid
