harrycatcat1
The other day I bought a Quorn cottage pie from Morrisons, it was only a little one and only a quid. I thought that I was doing my bit to keep healthy, less meat etc like they keep telling you. We had a baked potato and the cottage pie today, my wife had other stuff on her tattie and only had a tea spoon of it as she is naturaly cautious. The taste was not what I expected (I dont know really what I expected) it had an unusual taste that I didnt like. Then the pièce de résistance about half an hour after was I didnt realise that its high in fibre. High fibre does not suit me at ALL, the moral of this is only have quorn if you have a cast iron stomach. Regards H

Bot had the cottage pie though! I have got some quorn sausages in the freezer but after this experience I dare not have them, its just the consequences of the "high fibre". I will have to stick to the real stuff Regards H

amateur
Isn't Quorn a mould grown on waste oil? I am sure that BP were developing it in the 1960's as a way of making use of their waste Edited April 20, 2016 by amateur

I am sure that BP were developing it in the 1960's as a way of making use of their waste From Wikipedia All Quorn foods contain mycoprotein as an ingredient, which is derived from the Fusarium venenatum fungus and is grown by fermentation using a process that has been described as similar to the production of beer or yoghurt
