kyska
Just a thought, what is the fine line running down some car wing mirrors? It's not a heating element as the one I'm looking at doesn't have one on the other side.
Gordon R
I think it is to reduce blind spots. Mirror is split into two effectively.

It greatly widens the field of view at the edge of the mirror

four-wheel-drive
My old Jeep had flat/curved door mirrors when I got the X-Trail it had the ones with a line down I think it is tilted out a little for wider vision but I could not get to like it so I got a replacement flat one and fitted it I get on much better with that and it only cost me a few quid.
