Some more for the .25 Bobcat finally

These have been a long time in the making. About 3 months ago one of permissions farmers had the electrics on his VW chewed on by squirrels and he wasnt pleased so wanted me to have a go at them I dutifully set up a couple of feeders and got no joy nada nothing was finding them. I moved them around a bit and finally this week the food was going like no ones business every day so I wanted to get out after them but as a lot of you can probably appreciate work went mental and I couldnt even get a morning off.

So I set off early this morning and parked by one of the feeders with my .25cal FAC Bobcat it was fairly quiet for a bit and blooming dog walkers didnt help either but finally one came in on the feeder and got the good news (so did the feeder a bit as it punched through his head :whistling:). A second one followed and I had the good sense to hit it while it wasn't directly in front of the feeder went for a body shot on this one as it was a bit fidgety and it dropped like a stone.

Things went a bit quiet then but I gave it an extra five minutes and saw some movement over my head as another one was heading through the canopy I kept as still as possible waiting for him to come down onto the feeder but lost track of him and he didn't show on the feeder. But I picked in up about 30 yards away having a good scratch high in the beech tree above the feeder so send another shot his way and he joined his two mates after hitting every branch on the way down.

I must say the FAC .25 is one hell of a squirrel gun, they are notoriously tough but with this any solid front end vital organ shot and they fall without a twitch.

If West Mercia ever sought out my variation from .22 fac air to .25 then i'll be owning one.

WMP are usually quite good, but on this occasion they are giving me a disgraceful service!

Never heard so much ****, blaming each other for delays. The last call the person tried to say the feo hadn't returned the paperwork. I said that was odd as he said he had "given it back to the girls" a week ago. Low and behold, "oh yes, I missed that on the notes. You should have it in a week"....
