EvoCars
Hi, just wondered if anyone else has had problems with escorts miss fireing, my guns only 6 months old, only ever had small loads in it, about 300 to 400 carts, never wet or dirty always cleaned /oiled ect, and untill very recently has been completly perfect, never missed a beat, i was shooting clays at brockton 2 weeks ago, had a missfire, didnt think much about it, stuck another cart in and carried on and it worked fine, that was on eley carts, then last week, i had 2 missfires in my first 3 or 4 shots on pro comps, looked like the pin wasnt hitting hard enough, looked a bit of a **** to be fare  , had to use my friends berretta ou for the rest of the clays, and that didnt miss fire on the rest of my carts, when i got home a stuck about 10 or so ramdom carts through my gun, and it was fine, looked like it was hitting the carts fine, so i dont know what it is, but ive completly lost faith in the gun, anyone got any ideas what it could be, dont fancy having to run and swap guns half way a through a peg again this week
the last engineer
6 months old get it back to the shop, have it checked out properly, it may be a simple thing like crud behind the pin though, have you removed and cleaned the bolt assembly recently, try that first but go no further in stripping down, you may affect the warrenty Martin
EvoCars
completly clean,I stripped it down, as the manual says, no crud/dirt anywhere, bolt/fireing pin ect look perfect, and oiled, cant understand why it does it sometimes and not others

I have had 2. I bought no 1 second hand not very old. after 400 shots the hammer snapped off. had it replaced three weeks later i shot a 50 bird clay saturday got home and did a quick clean, went out sunday put 25 shell through the connecting rod broke in half. gun no 2 bought brand new from swillington guns. missed recycling from day 1, after less than 500 shots it stopped recycling altogether. thats when I went on to beretta's now I am sooooo happy. I should have bought one in the first place. I have had a franchi. fell in bits a browning. not bad but too heavy a remmington, 1100 not all that good but better than most gas opp's a new benelli, finicky recycling unless you use 36 gramms a winchester, **** hard to clean unreliable a new fabarm eurolion, looks good BUT. THERE IS ONLY ONE SEMI BERETTA.

Curly87
yep mine does the same!!! Very very annoying when you pull the trigger on a pigeon from the hind and all you hear is a click!! There has been some words said to that gun that I wouldn’t want to repeat but then you get what you pay for really, o yer and if any one wants to buy a escort im sure i can give you a gd deal
peter-peter
Geez Peter...you a bit heavy handed!! youv'e gotta tell it as you find it ol I think the ones i bought where made on a monday. serious though. I have found all the auto's i have owned, have had problems, the manufacturers must know about these things why dont they do summat about them, the remmie 1100 i had was the best gun I have ever used, (for me), but after 100 shots, it could have done with a soak in a bath of degreaser, to remove all the ****. it was also very barrel heavy. beretta don't have a problem with ****, it all or, most of it goes forward. add to this the fact they all handle well. its why I like em the other manufacturers could come up with something similar. but they all seem to be stuck in a rut. MC
heres a pic of a cart fired since That is not a gun problem if the primer has been struck that hard. I would say it is a duff box of shells. It can happen from time to time.
Oly
Peter - I know where your coming from but unfortunatly Berratta's don't suit everyone...or their pocket! Last one I used I couldn't hit a thing, but my escort I can't miss with! I'm having a go with my brother's 303 tommorow - we'll see if anything has changed! Martin - Good point, maybe he needs to look at where/how he is storing his ammo.
EvoCars
the pro coms where brand new, only purchased the day before, the eleys from the week before were from the shoot, kept in their shed, so they most prob had got damp ,the carts do look like they are hit hard,as said above, but the ones that missed didnt, strange, went out last night for a test and stuck 50 or so through the gun and it was perfect, was firing as fast as i could pull the trigger, over and over again, so maybe it was just an iffy box of pro comps, im going to try it out tonight on the clays again and see how it performs on another make of carts, cheers lads for the advise
markbivvy
so maybe it was just an iffy box of pro comps no, it will do it again. sorry.

sandy22
heres a pic of a cart fired since Firing pin strike looks a bit off-centre. Wonder if it would be enough to cause a problem? Sandy.
pavman
had a few problems with some carts (game bore clear pigeon) not ejecting fast enough and causing a jam, stripped it down monday inc, taking trigger out (via 2X pins) full of **** in trigger recess, clean with compressed air, oiled all parts good check over, now works fine except on game bore clear pigeon
EvoCars
heres a pic of a cart fired since Firing pin strike looks a bit off-centre. Wonder if it would be enough to cause a problem? Sandy. its always been like that, even when closed tho the bolt seems to have very slight movement in it, spose thats the cause for it not being centre'ed 100%
markbivvy
you must of really hated your escort mate it started acting up from day one,so stripped and cleaned it, day two was no better. but tied it for a week then it whent back. there is better second user guns out there for the same money. EvoCars
it was brand new end of last year, minsterley ordered it in for me so prob the later version
peter-peter
it was brand new end of last year, minsterley ordered it in for me so prob the later version check if the piston has a castellated nut or a plain round retainer. it could be the problem they changed design towards the end of last year
