spandit
Shot this chap tonight with the HMR from about 45 yards. He dropped like a sack of spuds and it's fairly obvious what he's been up to near the wheat field: What isn't obvious, though, is where I hit him. Couldn't find any holes and there was no blood. The guts were all intact when I paunched him too - normally the HMR makes a huge mess. Weird.
oowee
Thats strange to be so intact. Maybe you he felt guilty and you scared him to death with the report

JDog
I have known of that before with rabbits and sometimes with pigeons I have plucked them without seeing any obvious sign of a pellet entry wound. Herons can faint at the sound of a gun or rifle shot and then recover. Your rabbit may have just passed out when the supersonic round passed close to it's ears. spandit
He didn't wake up when I stuck the knife into him so he was definitely dead. Wish they were all like that - makes handling so much less unpleasant!
robbietherimmer
Just shows the need for a decent backstop at all times
WelshMike
Well done mate. Nice when they are clean and tidy, nothing worse then opening them out to find a pile of mush spill out everywhere. Keep up the good work.
