bruno22rf
To avoid the obvious risk of fitting a traditional type switch so close to our shower enclosure (approx. .5m) and needing a 2 way control (shower lights + extractor fan on one switch and remaining 3 lights on the other) I have opted for a glass fronted touch sensitive switch but cannot seem to find any advice on whether or not this is a safe option ? TIGHTCHOKE
I thought all bathroom switches had to be the pull cord type!

bruno22rf
10cm inside zone 2 bullet1747 but thought that the touch sensitive switch would be the safest option - pull cord is out as I would need 2 of them which would look daft - problem has been caused by the shower pump being operated by a flow switch that cannot be linked to the extractor fan hence to turn the fan on I have linked it to the single light above the shower - one LED button now operates 3 lights in the bathroom whilst the other operates one light plus the fan - could not think of an alternative. Wot IP rating does the touch switch have
bruno22rf
Cannot find any reference to a IP rating - will contact them on Monday and find out....switch is a Biard product code MG-VO2-C and bought from BEAM LED website.
old man
Personally would go for the safety of a properly installed pull cord set up. My in laws had for a while, a couple of touch sensitive bedside lights, eventually much buzzing and reportedly a minor shock from one saw them off. Wilts#Dave
What's the issue with putting a 2 gang light switch outside the bathroom rather than inside, as I do regularly? Edited July 5, 2016 by Wilts#Dave
bruno22rf
Wilts#Dave...because (and I have done this several times already) you get all naked then as you step into the shower you remember that the beast is turned off - with 6 people in the house at any one time opening the door to reach a switch could be embarrassing
