Houseplant
Cooked up my second roast goat leg. It came out well. Really not very different to lamb, but almost no fat. I wouldn't try it with an old billy goat, this was a young animal. If you get the chance, I wouldn't pass it up.

Greenhunter
Goat is very tasty and healthier than lamb due to the lack of fat. It can be cooked in all the ways lamb is cooked but I won't eat it unless I know how it was killed. Halal is a definite NO-NO for me! And yes, I do know a lot of lamb is killed that way too. Walker570
Nothing wrong with a goat but like you would sell on a rutting stag/buck to the game dealer, a young yearling would go in the freezer. Mind I don't believe in 40 odd years of eating roe I have ever had a bad piece, buck or doe. Goat was known as cabrito down in Texas when I was there and was excellent eating. That looks delicious.
