You sound like someone who's well in with his local Muslim community, do you include Muslim members of the armed forces among those who would never give up terrorists, when you suggest dealing with Muslim criminals quietly and efficiently do you also wish to see white Christian criminals dealt with the same way. How would you suggest we deal with them perhaps the Serbian solution to the Muslim problem would be an acceptable method.

Now there's an idea

You know fine well republicans aren't a threat to France at this moment in time, but they are still a major threat to the uk. Just as much a threat as Islamic terror groups.

So tell me ,how many attacks have 'republicans ' made on the UK lately?

You mention collections going on in parts of the country for republican causes, which country?

If you are talking about England,Id like to know where.

I mentioned France because, islamic terrorism is a global threat to world peace, you seem to think the threat of some old die hard IRA splinter groups are as big ,if not a bigger threat,I really cant see the reasoning behind that.

You mention the (probably) quarter of a per cent muslims in our armed forces, not exactly representative of the population is it ?

Generally speaking, muslims dont join the forces very often, because they know full well that they may be called upon to serve in a theatre that will put them in conflict with other muslims, which would be against islamic teaching.

At the end of the day, islamic preachers are radicalising people, its not a fairy story Im afraid.

No attacks because vigilance and Intel have prevented them including two spectacular attacks.

There are still many republican sympathisers in th UK who collect in bars and clubs where they congregate I've seen it many times mainly in Glasgow.

Generally most serving Muslims I've encountered were in medical units allowing them to serve without directly fighting other Muslims, no doubt a bit like conscientious objectors during the war they weren't prepared to kill but still wanted to serve. And no matter how small a percentage serve or how few join combat units they still deserve our respect for joining up they shouldn't have to put up with abuse in the street from racists.

Whether you are killed by a jihadist or a republican dead is dead. Dont think for one minute Irish terrorism is over it only needs one lunatic to get lucky

No one has ever said hate preachers were a fairy story.

Many times leading Muslim clerics and the Muslim council of great Britain condemn attacks but you usually find articles about it in the media on page 14.

The muslim council of GB can hardly condone it can they?

Thing is hate preachers are more of a good story for the Daily fail than say "cleric condemns hatred" it's a bit like shooting really.

They're not interested in reporting the good side of things only want to stir up anger whether it be preachers or shooting.

Thats what sells papers

Like I said, some of what you say is true.

However ,it seems to me you are trying to say that on one hand we dont need to worry about radical islam, because the IRA are still a massive threat, when all the evidence points toward the former being the greater issue.

On the other hand you say that the only press that islamic clerics get is bad press?

Im not being funny, but vicars and imams throughout the 'civilised' world condemn terrorism on a daily basis, its not really 'news' is it?

Now if you got a catholic priest whipping up some republicans to go out and commit atrocities, they might get some airtime too perhaps ?

But if that happens ,which I doubt, they would do it behind closed doors, whilst the mullah or imam feels no such handicap.

That is the difference.

I never once said don't focus on radical Islam I pointed out they are not the only threat out there, a threat who on their day could easily pull off a massive outrage.

I know imams condemning terrorism isn't news and I am well aware they condemn it daily I was pointing out a fact to someone who stated they never condemn it.
