Graham M
Just wondering John, is it legal to use an electronic device to lure foxes in G.M.
pin
It can be done, anyone with a few years electronics experience could knock something up for you. At a basic level you'd install a receiver, perhaps something like this, inside the caller unit itself. At a guess the switches to activate the calls are debounced micro types so you could simply interface directly to the button itself for remote-switched activation. The basic one in the example is only £10 and would easily be powered from a 5v rail somewhere in the caller. The fobs, for about the same price, can have 3 buttons so you could easily remotely activate your choice of 3 calls from the one fob. Deako
Guys, don't forget, electronic fox callers are perfectly LEGAL. They are also fine for crows and magpies in NORTHERN Ireland.

Why didn't I think of that? Silly me. Do you want anchovies on that? I hope you earn well from what you do Pin, sounds very technical. Anyway, I've got to go now, the wifes moaning that the mangle is playing up again.....

Hunter
We use this rig on model aircraft, and take photos from the air with a digital camera Heres an old photo of where I live. We use a more advanced digital camera now.
bbjunkie
A small pair of PMR446 radios (can pick them up in maplin or asda) with external mic and ear sockets would be perfect for this, plug the caller into the radio used as transmitter, and the extension speaker into the receiver. a couple of 2.5mm and 3.5mm jack plugs and a short length of shielded audio cable should be all that's needed. Hunter
Imagine the cops faces when they pic this freq up on there scanners as they drive around... squeek squeek I just looked into a PMR446, they are good for out and about, the max legal power before you need a licence. They are bassically walkie talkies on steroids

pin
Yes it would, even a very good set would diminish the sound quality. The rc idea could be done but it's a bit heath robinson Also, a cheap 4 channel set with the servos would run you about £40 new, less second hand - not a cheap solution. My plan sounds technical but if you can read and understand instructions and solder you might be able to do it that way. Very cheap @ £20 and you get to pick the calls remotely with no reduction in quality We use this rig on model aircraft, and take photos from the air with a digital camera Me too, here's one from from one of my heli's, again I have a better camera on there now but don't have a photo to hand. This is the Mosquito museum from about 600 feet, about as high as I can still see the heli

new to the flock
I know it is not remote but this is the one I made. I have a number of tapes that I use but I also have cd's that I have recorded on the computer. With the cd's I put in blank spots so that the sound is not constant. I then take the unit and place it either at my feet or some times down the field where I want the yote or fox to appear. I remember some of the guys on the e caller forum talking about making remote callers so if you look around there you may come up with some ideas. http://www.predatormastersforums.com/homemadeecaller.shtml This link will let you go to the different sections on how to create your own sounds for cd's, tapes, mpv's http://www.predatormastersforums.com/techpage.shtml NTTF
