Catamong
Hmmm, it seems Fathers Day may have claimed a few victims, being a Father myself my policy on Fathers Day is that I'm gonna do what I want to do, so I will be there at 9am, quick warm up on the pool behind the clubhouse, then off to stand 1 down the bottom to see what beauties Dave has put on for the day. TP, Sod the straw bale jobbie, shoot round with us first thing, then you can savour your 95 whilst going for the charity trophy..!! berettaman1
'Fraid not. I'd already shot on the Friday and Saturday so gave myself Sunday off for good behaviour. I heard it was a tricky shoot though. yes it was brilliant, i shot the first 7 stands and had only dropped 9 and thought i was going to win the vets then the heat and my fitness told after a lot of standing around disaster, i dropped 6 out of 8 on the far stand and then a few more on the last 3 stands and finished with a 76 , not good enough, i had a hard job finding the place it was not marked up very clear i clocked up 162 miles getting down there but it was a good day out. Catamong
Well, the South East Champs at Southdown was a bit of a tester, every stand was a real challenge, Digweed shot yesterday and posted a 94, I wasn't too phased by that as I've done several 95's there, (some time ago, I hasten to add.. ), but I got off to a really dreadful start, I was 8 birds down after only 2 stands. . I simply couldn't get it together, wasn't swinging the gun properly, poking at everything, timing all wrong, it was a nightmare..!! I managed to get things back on track and straighted a few stands, but the damage was already done, and I finished with a truly abysmal 75 ex 100 :o :o It's funny how things go, every so often I have a real doomer, then I bounce back, there's no logic to it, after so many years shooting I still can't get my mind around it, I suppose it's just how you feel on the day..?? I saw Tosspot's score on the board, well done Matey, (he warned me by PM it was a toughie), Pin & Mungler, you would have enjoyed the layout, I always reckon if you can shoot well at Southdown, you can shoot well anywhere. (I'm taking next weekend off, going golfing all weekend..!!) Cat.
Mungler
I should have been there, but a plenty aggro weekend - usual family and work stuff getting in the way of some important weekend shooting Next weekend's all off as I have a wedding. So what's next on the calendar?

Mungler
What's next on the calendar then gents, and I am mindful that we really do owe it to Mr. Pot to attend something a bit more local to him. I have of course now mastered everything that Essex has to offer.
MC
ROTFPMSL What happened at the Essex Masters then
Mungler
Essex Masters - I didn't like to say anything but I shot that left handed. But seriously, that was more Suffolk than Essex. What more can I say
pin
Well, Kent = Tosspot's gaff. Kent = Sarf Coast, innit. Kent is where west Kent shooting school is. QED.
Mungler
As an aside, my mate Matt (Louisvalentine on here) has just bought an F3 and one of the fellas at my local clay shoot is lining up for one. I reckon I should get a commission from GMK. I must say I picked up a couple of Kreighoffs when in at Essex Gun last time (just to convince myself that I wasn't missing anything) and I was right, I wasn't. So then, lets get something in the diary that is not mothers day, fathers day, a birthday or a holiday....
pin
Give big George any reasonable quality gun (ie basic beretta/browning) and he'd kick **** with it. Proving that it makes no bloody difference what you shoot with, its how you shoot.
Mungler
I agree that they all probably pattern exactly the same, but weight, swing, recoil and pointability of gun come into it as too picture down the barrel - I had a go on Bazzer's semi auto last week and the view down the barrel / rib was weird to say the least - no good to me but worked for him.
