walshie
My rucksack has finally given up the ghost. Can anyone recommend a decent rucksack brand? Ideally it would have lots of external pockets for smaller stuff like my keys, phone, ammo etc. but the ones I've looked at all seem to be just one or two large compartments. If I wanted that, I might as well take a carrier bag. I've seen some by "mil-tec" that look like they would do, but is mil-tec a decent brand or just stuff that tries to look "military"? clakk
Berghaus are good i used 1 in 7 years in the army and passed it on when i left, well made and lotsa storage pockets.A lot of the "mil tec" looks the part but is made in china for a price.Do u have an army surplus up your way ex army is well made as squaddies are known for abusing stuff to its limits. If not have a look at "Springfield,s "army stores in Burton they have pukka stuff by the crate load. Its not cheap but will last and their customer service is good.Theyre on t,internet ,though to be far my 30 litre miltec rucksack died recently after 15 years atb Edited October 7, 2016 by clakk

Exudate
I've used a Harkila roe sack almost every weekend for the past 6 years. Very impressed with it and still looking like new (well, almost). http://www.swillingtonshootingsupplies.co.uk/store/product/1910/Harkila-Roe-Sack/

Dougy
Don't forget the more pockets, storage and the bigger the backpack the more you will want to put in. I bought a small "viper" shoulder bag from a local army store. Ideal for all I need, drink bottle, ammo, knife, spare battery's, large waste bag and of course some loo roll.
