islandgun
was wondering what hats for fowling people prefer at the moment, iv'e been favouring a beanie and a kerchief lately, but have tried many others, so is it a peaked waterproof, or a knitted balaclava, a flat barbour or a tweed deerstalker, do you wear a face mask,a hood, or even a full burka,
AberFowl
Have a couple of wooly hats and beanies to choose from depending on temperature and where I am shooting Always cover my face aswel, usually a dull coloured buff or use my thick Barbour scarf when it gets really cold! Hood up when there's damp falling from the heavens Edited October 31, 2016 by AberFowl
Highlandladdie
Buff pulled up to cover face, and a beanie type hat in camo. Not sure exactly where you are, but it's too windy for any type of peak or hood with me 😂
anser2
Wooly camo hat if its windy and a fur camo peaked hat in calm weather. But started the season with a floppy camo hat in the warm weather. Sometimes with a face mask in sunny weather , but will change to a buff neckcheaf when it gets colder. Got a hood on my jacket , but almost never wear it unless the weather id very bad and then not when shooting.
greenergp
Iv'e got a Cabelas peaked cap with sewn in balaclava, and i have just started to wear a face mask repurposed from a swiss army sniper hood, so far it seems pretty good
Smiler23
Beanie style hat and face covered for me, don't use caps anymore as ya miss them birds coming from above and behind till there out of range
Guttersnipe
deer stalking headnet with mouth opening for calls when its warm (also keeps off mozzies) then when its cold a cheap ex army peaked beanie with fleecy neckercheef/scarf/ring - best of both worlds, small peak to keep rain out of eyes and warm, won't blow off. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mens-Woolly-US-Army-Military-Combat-Hat-Cap-MASH-Jeep-Peaked-Knitted-Olive-Green-/141904529962
islandgun
interesting to see most wear a face mask, after feeding my little pond the other day and watching from shrub cover , some mallard came in but one saw my face and they were off ! (not sure what that says about my face)
