nabbers
Just on with a FAC application for a .22LR Under the heading 'Type/Action' Does it make sense to put semi-automatic/bolt action to keep my options open as to either? How would you word it?
Scully
Not sure to be honest. I always knew which I wanted before applying, so it wasn't an issue. I think you may have to specify one ortother

How would you word it? Just put rifle, and discuss with the FEO when he visits. Unless you know specifically what you want. Put 2x .22lr rifle down if you think you can swing it. For example if you are a club member 1x target rifle and 1x practical/timed (semi auto) rifle . For field work/pest control , 1x NV set up, 1x day setup. wokkywokky
The requirement for day and night setup is how I was signed off for 22lr and 17hmr. For the type I just put rifle. This will leave you some breathing room. I also didnt specify 22lr but put down 22rf and was granted 22rf so in theory can go for 22wmr ☺ Edited November 9, 2016 by wokkywokky
walshie
Is that something your force has put in of it's own accord? Just looked at an application form from my force (Dyfed Powys) and it just says "type". Nothing about action.

Just looked at an application form from my force (Dyfed Powys) and it just says "type". Nothing about action. Probably! I think I want to get a Ruger 10/22 to begin with. Thanks for the suggestions, I am happy to stick to one slot on my FAC for now.
CharlieT
It is not necessary to stipulate action. All you need to do is provide TYPE which would be rifle.
