What does everyone think of this press??

Recommended Posts

It'll do the job nicely, but do your homework and make sure you can get parts for it or that'll fit it.

You won't save any money, unless you can get shot cheap.

It seems a tad over-priced to me and I'm surprised the the "well known auction site" haven't removed it - they did when I was selling one, against the rules apparently.

I've got a 9000 in 12 and a Sizemaster in 28 and both are nice. Reloading is a mixture of things. It is a hobby in it own right. And you can churn out ammo that suits your needs. But unless you are making anything other than 20 and 12 or sort of specialised loads such as heavies or non tox you won't save money and If you are only shooting small amounts then it would be cheaper to buy them. You have to have a bit of a mechanical leaning to get your head around the recipes the components and setting the machine up to produce the best finish and be of a calm nature to be able to resolve problems with the loading process which will happen without throwing the lot in the bin. Things like no primer or the primer goes in crooked. The powder bridges and doesn't drop. You forget to put a wad in and the shot goes into the powder. The shot goes all over the place. The column length is to long and the crimp won't form and a multitude of other things that can and will go wrong BUT when it is all adjusted and running smoothly and the reloads look and perform like bought cartridges It is great.
