Reversing camera

Hi lads i now there is somebody on this site that can sort out this problem for me.I have fitted a reversing camera to my navara and reversing spotlights.both been wired up straight to battery red wire for camera and seperat red wire for spotlight and two earth wires straight to battery.the proble is when i put spots on sepratly the camera plays up flikering on off the spot have there own switch only need them when reversing out of fields in the dark.as stated there is two seperat wireing sisteyms one for light one for camera the camera is wired to the reversing light i have took the buld out made nodiffrence.need help please.tony

Hi, as mentioned above by someone , the relay takes the `load' (high amperage current) from the switch contacts , to prevent shorting and melting the switch plastics / wiring that encompass the very small .

When you flick the switch, you get a sudden current load from the vehicle electrics as the switch contacts connect.

# When you flick the switch on to allow current to pass ,--- imagine it as flicking your left ball with your thumb - it`s gonna hurt - --

now think of the relay as a cushion between your thumb and said left ball - it takes the pressure away and acts as a protector.
