After looking at different makes I have decided to go for a pulsar but that is as far as I have got in my choice. I would like to here from any one with a thermal pulsar and your pros and cons please. If mine broke I would have to find a couple of grand to buy another as I could not go back to shooting without one...they are the future of shooting.. Excellent as a spotter AND can be mounted on the front of your scope = Thermal Scope The downside, apart from the cost, is you are slightly limited on how much magnification you can use, but I am still able to go up to around 7X mag before it gets too pixellated. If you want to keep your dayscope in place, this may be the answer for you. Thermal is an absolute game changer, I have used it extensively in the Forces, so knew what to expect; but if you are new to it? prepare to be shocked. Watching a fox work along a hedge, or deer feeding at night is almost surreal. As mentioned above, you can scan a field in seconds, and believe me, stuff you may miss with nv, stands out like a bulldogs borlicks. Lots of kit out there, I would recommend trying before you buy if at all possible; lots of cash to commit whatever you choose. There is no 'cheap' thermal !! You can ID fox's and badgers in excess of 600yds you do need to study a little the way they walk, there gait is different, rabbits aswell you can spot them out at about the same. Total faff on swapping from spotting to fitting to your rifle every time you want to take a shot, you would neigh on need two units, and ID range is very limited. For the money its a good compromise in my opinion. I wish I had thought longer really, as I am using it as spotter only currently, and taking the shot with add on IR; a Ward 800 unit.
