mick miller
No, I don't think it's every unit by any means. The American reviews (presumably sold in larger numbers over there) did have a few problems and a perceived lack of support when things go wrong; bearing in mind of course that you generally only post a 'review' if you've had bad service, disappointed in the quality etc. That does bias it somewhat. I have to contrast that with the somewhat less featured 350 which, after someone ran over one in their truck and posted a video online, was replaced FOC. Now, I don't expect that would happen every time someone did something dumb, but it does smack of a more customer focused support team. Plus, bestfoxcall regularly add free sounds and there seems to be active UK support for it too. And it's a bit cheaper. That means more beer money
WelshMike
Why do people need a electric caller?.Most keepers I know suck on back of the hand.it works for me .anyone use it?. I generally find that this comment comes from those who have never tried an electronic caller. Try getting a fox that has nothing else on its mind other then mating to come into a hand call. I have used the hand call to great effect but when you have the right calls on an electronic caller it makes a fair difference. Hand calling works very well on ill educated cubs but old, wary foxes can turn tail and run when presented with a hand squeak (especially if they have already been educated with a missed shot). mick miller
Yes, an update. I got the Icotec G350 for Xmas (she's a good lass) and joined the Icotec FB page. The 24 calls that came with it are really aimed at the American market so I dug an old SD card out of the drawer and, after asking the lads on the FB page for some links, loaded up 2 sets of calls suited th the UK. First clear night I took it out the back and sat out on the paddock fence posts and started calling with the BFC calls. Within 15 minutes one had walked right up to it and another stood maybe 120 yards away listening and slowly approaching. Good enough thought I. About a week later I took the hornet out and tried again, as they're pairing up I used the vixen calls. After 10 minutes nothing came so I switched to the dog calls. Instantly a dog fox came out of the woods and started along the field edge making its territory as it went. That dog fox bought it. After that I've been using it on a mates Small holding where there have been frequent attacks on the geese. The caller has brought three so far. All in all it works well, but you need to change the calls. Edited January 24, 2017 by mick miller
steve_b_wales
Hi Mick, When you fitted the new SD card, could you still see the names of the calls on the remote? On my Foxpro Spitfire, I can add various cards, but they need to be synchronised with the handset if I want to see what they are.
mick miller
I've got the cheap one, so it doesn't have a display. However, I have a phone. and my phone has a lock screen so I made a green text on black background list which means that I can look at the phone if I forget simply by holding my thumb on the screen for a second or two. I set the calls up sensibly with rabbit distress Set A and fox calls Set B. Two sets of 12. Then I broke that down into sets of three calls and within about a week I could reliably remember what is where. If I forget there's always the phone.
